At What Risk

At What Risk             What was more unpredictable? If you talk to my old English teachers, they will probably tell you that Nick Morgan writing stories was more unpredictable than Covid! 😉 As true as that may be, here I am again taking another crack at it. If you are still reading up to this point I’d like to say I appreciate you suffering (following) along this creative journey with me, and I hope you enjoy this story. If any of you reading this are my old English teachers, please refrain from commenting below with a Letter Grade! haha   The Unexpected                    In 2016, the summer going into my Junior year of College, was the hardest summer of my life. I’m sure everyone here has heard of “2 a days.” How about 3 a days?  That summer I was attending JJ Mcleski’s Athletic training facility every morning at 8AM working on speed, flexibility, and conditioning. Call me crazy, but the thought of […]

What They Don’t Tell You

So, for those of you who have been following me on this creative journey I want to say thank you! However, this piece is going to be a little different style of writing for me. “Nick, please tell me this is not another baseball story”…… Well, today is your lucky day! I want this piece to be less about me, and more about you. The whole point of this is about you and your knowledge. I want this to be informative and as much as I would love to inform you more about my baseball career😉, I’m going to do my best to refrain from that and stick to informing you on the repercussions that you will face if you are putting your business, employees and customers at risk.               I would like to start this off by stating, I think that it comes to no surprise to anyone when I say Cyber Crime is at an all-time high […]

Firing On All Cylinders

Throughout my entire life I have heard the phrase “Firing on All Cylinders” yet for some reason, so far in my professional career it doesn’t seem appropriate. Introduction I am sorry, let me start over. My name is Nick Morgan, and I spent the first 23 years of my life dedicated to the sports world. From little league all the way through college ball, I had given my life to perfecting my craft in pursuit of greatness. Although my playing career ended before I made it on the big screen, I was still able to achieve 2 conference championship rings, 1 regional championship ring, and a first-place seed to the division 2 college world series. “Here goes Nick again, reliving his glory days!” Okay, okay, let’s get back on topic. I am now 26, and I hope you follow along with me as I tell my story about where CEO’s, Business Owners and the like, seem to fall short compared to Coaches […]

That’s the Point!

So I am talking to my boss about this crazy idea about starting to blog and I said to him “man, I am not really good at writing stuff, I can field the heck out of a ground ball, but writing doesn’t come natural.” Well, he looked at me with this look, one that I am sure that I will get about a thousand more times as I learn everything I can from him. He said “Well dang Morgan, isn’t that the point? to constantly improve, to constantly set higher and higher standards for yourself? Shouldn’t you wake up tomorrow and try and be 1% better than you were yesterday? Or…. you can just keep avoiding hard stuff and be comfortable knowing you are no better than you were last week! Do what you want bro!” and then he just smiled! This dude totally has my number! He knows how to motivate – so here I am.. a blogger. Would […]

How do you know?

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Don Monistere, I am the President of General Informatics and my wife and I pictured on the right are originally from Louisiana and of course are die hard LSU fans. But this blog is about something entirely different. When I first met Nick, I knew he had IT! No, not Information Technology, the industry that I have worked in for the past 30 years. He had it! Where did it come from? His walk, his talk, he walks into a room as if everyone is waiting for him to show up. Not in a selfish way or so cocky that you can’t stand to be around him (that is reserved fore me) I digress. Nick has the confidence that good upbringing, sports and living the kind of life where nothing is handed to you. I new I was going to hire him and when he asked me to be a guest blogger […]

The Concept

I know being in the morgue is a bit bleak and yes a bit of a play on words, but I can’t help remember something that I was told as young athlete by one of my coaches. “From the day we are born, our life is counting down to the day that we end up in the morgue, what you do with the days in between now and then are entirely up to you.” I still remember this and it truly has shaped my life. I have been so blessed to be influenced, heck inspired by some really good coaches, people, bosses, family members and people from all walks of life. The sum total of my short time on this earth are the culmination of those influences. The one consistent thing that I have learned through those influences is this…… Before I end up “in the morgue” I will live this life to the fullest and what I am finding […]
